  • Changes to credentialing re paediatrics.
  • Allied to that, developing standardised CPD for ongoing accreditation [this is coming whether we like it or not, as a national system is in the offing].
  • Developing a better relationships with CHSA.
  • Ensuring adequate equipment and facilities across all sites.
  • Training positions for new GP-anaesthetists.
  • Nurturing better communication amongst ourselves and utilising the experience, knowledge and expertise to better support each other.
  • Allocation of lists
  • FFS issues SAMSOF and in theatre
  • CHSA Guidelines for Obese and high BMI patients surgery and anaesthetics in rural hospitals
  • Retrieval responses anaesthetists involvement

There are going to be increasing demands to provide ‘bits of paper’ to ensure ongoing credentialing from the powers that be. If we are passive and sit back, this will be dictated to us. We have an opportunity NOW to be proactive in this process.
